"If this were a Jets opponent coming back on a Gang Green team up three touchdowns with eight minutes to play, Francesa would’ve come out swinging. Loud and ranting, he would have pinned the disaster on the “loose” operation Ryan runs, or Rex’s big mouth, or “Hard Knocks,” or cheeseburgers, or “needless” Santonio Holmes celebrations, or Sal Alosi and his chorus line (by the way, the Giants could’ve used Alosi when DeSean Jackson was running to daylight).”
“Last year, if the QB [of the NY Jets] was making a big play who was catching the ball? The Tight End. Does the Tight End ever catch the ball in this offense this year? Ever?” - Mike Francesa
Above are Jets TE Dustin Keller stats. (Left 2009. Right 2010) As you can see Mike just makes stuff up. Keller has exceeded every stat from last season with three games still to play.
"Francesa working a limited schedule this month, so pressure is on to squeeze in as much Jets-bashing as possible today. Going well so far."
…Paul Lebowitz has taken the task of further exposing Francesa while clearly explaining why he’s in that downward spiral.
“When Mike Francesa talks about the Mets, you can almost hear the desperation and crestfallen tone in his voice as he comes to grips with a management team that won’t kowtow to him, nor be affected in any way by his rabble-rousing and bullying.”
Now you can add the Mets to the list of teams/people outside Francesa’s circle of influence that includes the Jets, any ESPN staffer, Bill Parcels, Tiger Woods, Brett Favre and Jenny Sanford.

"We truly are blessed to have Mike Francesa as our ultimate sports insider. After all, how many professional know-it-alls not only are rarely right, but so often wrong in a colossal way — yet smugly keep bringing it as if they’ve never been wrong?
Starting with the end of the Yankees’ season, Fran-say-so, from his inside-the-Yankees-think-tank position, knowingly stated re-signing Derek Jeter would be a mere formality, no-sweat, quiet non-issue, a “Take it from me, Mike Francesa” ho and a hum. But it was another bad week for Francesa, from the ongoing Jeter contract hassle, to his word from “inside” that the Mets would hire Bob Melvin. You’d think he’d have learned by now — he’s the last one to know. Incidentally, the Bucs, smugly identified by Francesa in September as among the NFL’s worst, are 7-3."
"So how “inside” are Mike Francesa’s “inside” sources if they told him, the day before Terry Collins was selected, that Bob Melvin will be the new Mets manager? Or, by “inside sources,” did Francesa mean he read it inside a newspaper?"
"What I notice about this (the World Series), when the Yankees go out (eliminated), on a year the Mets aren’t in it and most years the Mets aren’t in it. So, when the Yankees go out and you get the World Series, it’s very rare that the World Series really captures anybody’s imagination before game six or seven."
WFAN Caller: I think it was incomplete because Favre was being rushed on the play.
Mike Francesa: No, he wasn’t being rushed on that play! Just go back and look!
Favre over threw Vikings WR Percy Harvin late in last night’s game because he was being rushed. Favre trying to throw over the outstretched arm of Jets DE Shaun Ellis caused the incompletion. Mike telling the caller ‘to look at the play’ then right away the Yes Network proves Mike wrong and nary a word from Francesa. Typical.
